In this case, for the disk wave spring with the double wave the ratio of the spring rates to and before the contact is exactly eight (Fig. 5.11). The material utilization of the linear disk spring corresponds approximately to the material utilization of a simple leaf spring with a constant cross-section. The non-linear wave spring possesses a somewhat lower material utilization.
